Singapore's Very First Diagonal Road-Crossing!!

Deardear and I went to town to do some shopping yesterday... I didn't buy anything though, instead Deardear bought more things than me!! He bought 2 polo tees from TopShop and a belt from Ed Hardy... As for me, I have already burnt a hole in my pocket on last Saturday at VivoCity!! Actually I still feel like buying more things but I guess I needed to save some money to do my hair (and nails if possible)!!!

While we were walking towards Heeren last night, we came to this cross-junction along the area between Ngee Ann City, Paragon, Mandarin Hotel and Park Hotel (previously known as Crown Prince Hotel)... Not sure if people have actually noticed the diagonal road markings on the floor and a diagonal white traffic man signal facing the diagonal directions on each side of the road?? Anyway, there were spot lights shining down at the middle of the cross junction!!

To our fascination, Deardear immediately held my hand and pulled me across the road diagonally from Ngee Ann City's side to Park Hotel!!! HAHAHAAA!! COOOOOOL HUH!!! I told Dear that I have to blog this down!! It's our first time crossing the roads in Singapore diagonally!!! The last time I did that was in Perth! I said I'll need to take a picture of it to put on my blog... He then said that we could always come back later and cross the diagonal-crossing again!! WHICH WE DID!!! HEHEHEE!!!

Here's the pics...

Pictures taken from outside Park Hotel (Swensens) towards Ngee Ann City.

Merging the 2 pictures above to give a better view of the diagonal-crossing...

Wouldn't it be a good idea if they could put up another diagonal-crossing at the cross-junction outside Wheelock, Shaw House/Scotts Isetan, Mariott Hotel/CK Tangs and Orchard MRT Station??...

Alright, there's another picture which I took... It captures a cheeky man peeking under a woman's legs trying to look at her 'u noe what'!!! Kekeke...

For those guys who are also interested in taking a peek could proceed to Chanel at Ngee Ann City! Haaa!!

Soon, it was time to go home... After we reached home, Deardear was surfing the net with my laptop while I was playing with my V3... I was trying to snap photos of myself when I suddenly took this pic! Hahaa!!

Out On A Rainy Day

It's been almost 1 year plus since the last time I met up with Vanessa. She's my ex-colleague, also my very good friend!!

After so long, we finally met up again on last Thursday bcoz the both of us are soooo freeeeee!! Kekeke!! Coincidently, she left her job recently too... so we are both jobless people!! =P

It was raining cats and dogs when I was travelling on my way to Far East Plaza. As usual, Vanessa accompanied me to iNuovi and waited for me to trim my eyebrows. Lili wasn't working on that day so Linda trimmed my brows for me instead.

After my eyebrow-trimming session, we did not know where to go as we were sort of stuck at Far East. Though Vanessa brought a small foldable umbrella with her, it was not big enough to shelter the both of us to the other parts of Orchard Road. Or rather, we actually did not want our Berkies to get wet!!! Hahaaa!!

As we do not want to spend money on shopping, so we decided to go to CineLeisure KBox for karaoke. Furthermore, there was nothing else for us to do!

We ended up taking a bus to Heeren and then walked very slowly under Vanessa's small umbrella to CineLeisure. Although the distance wasn't far, the walk from Heeren to CineLeisure was a struggle for us!! Bcoz... we would rather get ourselves slightly drenched by walking slowly under the small umbrella shield than to let the inner sole of our slippers get wet! Heee... Despite our effort, our slippers still got wet when we reached CineLeisure! Haaa!!

We then took a lift up to KBox on Level 8 and requested for a KTV room. They gave us Room No. 33... I was hoping that it will be quite a spacious room, however it turned out to be a very small one instead!! Disappointed... =(

It took me a few songs to warm up... coz I have not sang KTV for quite some time... But soon, I started my Jolin concert as usual. And then Vanessa also started her S.H.E. and Xiao Zhu's concert!! Hehee...

Time flies whenever I am singing KTV. Soon it was 8.50pm... We left the room before the package timing ended at 9pm as we wanted to go and take photo stickers on Level 2 and the photo sticker shop closes at 9.

Had some fun reliving the days of taking photo stickers. In fact, the photo sticker machines now are much more high-tech and images are so much nicer!! Had a good laugh while we were using one of the machines coz it allows us to choose images such as we were in the rubbish bins and prison!! The pictures turned out to be hilarious!! But a sad thing was that we had insufficient time to add designs and decorations to the background of the photos!! All bcoz the shop was closing!! Damn!!

After that, I called Dear to make reservation at Wine Network and brought Vanessa there for dinner... Had a tough time waiting for a cab, as it was still raining and there were many other people also waiting for cab outside CineLeisure. Fortunately, Vanessa saw a vacant cab turning out from Mandarin Hotel and we managed to flag it.

The cab driver had some problem with his hearing though... We told him that we wanted to go to Dampsey. Immediately he shook his head and did not want to take us, he even said that it's too far... After we heard him said that it's too far, Vanessa and I then stressed that it is not far, just nearby Botanical Gardens!! The uncle then said ok and so allowed us to board his cab. After that, he told us that he thought that we wanna go to Tampines coz he heard Dampsey as Tampines.... Duhh!!

Gathering with 'The Gang' and Choco Friends!!

Hehee... Yesterday, 13 Jan 2007, was my 2nd year anniversary with Deardear!! Did not really celebrate it but had a gathering with Fang, Tammie, Eileen and Kelvin. Anyway, I wish Deardear and myself a Happy 2nd Year Anniversary!! =D

We met up and had ma la steamboat for dinner... Sorry for being late for 1 hour plus and to let Dear wait for the seats alone at the restaurant. =P

After dinner, we then went to The Cannery - BarFly to chill out with Andrew, Bernard, Grace and Choco. It is quite a nice place to slack and I quite like it there... especially for the big table that we sat at.

However, the tables at the centre reminded me of Melbourne's Crown Casino where we ate the AUD2.80 Fish and Chips! Hehee!

We stayed there till 2plus at night and then proceeded to Mr Bean at Selegie for supper.

At Mr Bean, the conversation topic led from buying insurance policy to chickenpox then to shingles. The topic of chickenpox started as I was telling Dear about my dad... Somehow the word 'shingles' seems to make everyone feels uneasy...

Then again I heard stories that shingles can be very dangerous and may be life-threatening and things like that. In fact, I looked alright at the point when we were discussing about this topic, I am actually quite worried about my dad, as my grandma indeed passed away previously as she was also suffering from shingles...

To many Chinese, they called this sickness as the 'snake'... This is bcoz there will be blisters outbreak around the waist area, which makes it look like a belt... But a belt that causes pain to the nerves around the waist.

I see the scariness of this virus since I have seen it killed someone in my life. Furthermore, I have been hearing stories from my parents about how 'the snake' could attack the person... Even the word itself brings shivers to us...

Many 'what if' questions went thru my mind after the conversation... Actually I was already quite worried about my father but the conversation made me feel worst in some way... Ended up thinking too much and crying in the cab while we were on our way home. Luckily Dear was around to comfort me. Even now, I will think about it, get worried and upset at times. Frankly speaking, this is my first time experiencing such a feeling - the feeling of being afraid to lose someone important... But probably I was just thinking too much...

Well, I guessed one of the things I could is to pray for my dad's recovery. And I really hope he will recover! PLEASE...

My New Hamsters!!

Few days ago, my mum brought back 2 white hamsters with red eyes, given by one of her colleague who breed and rare them... My family even went downstairs to shop for the hamster food, accessories and toys for them...

However, they were so fierce that one of them bit my brother's thumb while he was transferring them from the smaller tank into the big tank!!

Seeing that they will bite, non of us dare to put our hand into the tank again...

We even did a test by lowering a sock into the tank... Immediately, the 2 white hamsters stood up and bit into the sock... My mum who was holding onto the sock even had difficulty in making them let go from the sock coz they bit it really tight! In the end, my mum had to shake the sock so as to shake them off... Hahaa!! Wow... Imagine if it was a hand that was bitten so tightly... Oh no, it's so scary!!

My mum decided to return them to the owner since they were so unfriendly!

1 day after my mum returned the white hamsters to their owner, she brought back another 2 grey hamsters!! These 2 were also given by another of my mum's colleagues. She told me that it is a trend among her colleagues now to rare hamsters and breed them! Hehee!

Both hamster are females coz my mum does not want them to breed and these 2 are very much cuter than the previous ones!! But one of them has lesser fur on its legs... according to the owner, its fur has dropped due to fighting with the other hamsters.

Now these 2 grey ones seems friendlier as they did not bite when we lowered our hands into the tank. But so far I still do not dare to carry or touch them... coz these 2 tend to fight with each other for their own territories and for playing the wheel... They will even make the squeeking sound which I think sounds quite cute! Sounds like some squeeky toy!! Hahaa!!

I learnt from one of my friends who has rared hamsters before, she said that I will need to separate them if they continue to fight and has blood stains appearing... However, till now I do not see any blood stain though I always see them squeeking with each other. Sometimes I wonder if they are just talking or quarrelling leh? Or are they just playing??

In fact, it's really interesting and funny to look at them coz you get to see how they fight for their territories, especially snatching to run on the wheel! Hehee...

I just hope nothing will happen to them coz we are still putting them together despite hearing them squeeking frequently. Any advice from people who has rared or are raring hamsters??

Searching For Changes...

I've been so bored staying at home for the last few days due to the cold and rainy weather. Situations at home seems to be turning bad... my dad was down with shingles since Monday, and the doctor said that it will take up to weeks for recovery... Thus, he will be on MC during this recovery period bcoz shingles are contagious, similar to chickenpox!! In fact, shingles seem to be the second stage of chickenpox.

At first, I was kinda frightened that I might get it too... but luckily I have gotten chickenpox before, and according to info found on the net, only those who have not ever gotten chickenpox have the risk of getting it... which means Dear would unable to come to my place during this period coz he has not got chickenpox before!

I was so bored that I was surfing some of my cousins and friends' friendster account to look at their photos... Some of them brought back good memories, some bad and some gave me inspiration for changes...

Looking at my cousin Stephanie's photos, I realized how much older I have become... No longer the young, fun and trendy teenager that I used to be, as I see the younger me in the present her!! Sad manz!! Which makes me realize that I should try to be more matured now! I will try but then again, I have a naive thinking... So I guessed that would be quite hard for me! The first thing for change was to delete away all the kiddish designs in my friendster account!

Looking at Joreen's photos, reminded me of the days which we did our school assignments together during our uni days. From quite close friends during our first semester to purely project mates in our last semester and now - acquaintances... Seeing pictures of her with Devi really makes me wonder what was it that made them became so close with each other and as for me, I drifted apart from them after the first semester... mixing with a different clique.

However, I do envy her for being able to find a really close friend in uni coz sometimes I wish that I have a really close girl friend too! Especially during those times when Dear is not free to accompany me...

Well, looking at my own pictures also made me realized that my life seems so bored... Friends who appeared in my photos are always the same few people, which tells that I am someone who does not have many friends... Maybe it's time for me to do some self-reflection?? Hahaa! =P

Anyway, I am also thinking about changing my hairstyle... Have been thinking if I should highlight it, curl it or simply cut it short! Hehee... Cutting it short will definitely be the last choice. But I am kinda sick of my straight long hair... I need a change!

What A Boring New Year...

This is my first entry in year 2007! Well well, nothing much to blog about though as I spent New Year's Eve staying at home watching the countdown programmes on Channel 5 and TVBS. Was switching between these 2 TV channels alternately within every 5-10 mins... Hoping to watch Jolin on TVBS yet not wanting to miss the Singapore countdown on Channel 5!! Hehee...

Was feeling kinda lonely and bored as Dear had to work on that night and there was no one else who asked me out for new year's celebration... I think bcoz I do not have many friends... So sad... Really hated such a feeling!! Such lonely feeling always reminds me of those days when I don't have a boyfriend!!! I used to think that life would be different after having a boyfriend, at least I have someone to celebrate such festive seasons with me... BUT, I was wrong. My last boyfriend didn't even care about celebrating such occasions... I thought that was bad enough!! Now... my current boyfriend has to sacrifice his time for work on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve!!!

I know I have been complaining about Dear having to work on such days before Christmas until now that it has even past New Year's Day for 1 week... Reason being that I am still very unsatisfied about that! There's one other thing that I am also angry about but not sure if I should mention it here!... But since this is my space, I shall not care about how others feel after reading... Those who are unhappy can simply leave this page!

Eventhough New Year's Eve has passed for 1 week, I am still unhappy about Gena (Kevin's gf) asking Kevin to go on off on New Year's Eve!! Coz when Kevin is off, my Dear has to work!!! And when Dear has to work, I cannot spent my time with him!!! One thing I wanna say is... This is so unfair!! Why didn't I request for Dear to go on off first?? Sigh... I can only blame it on their stupid company that came up with the rule that only either one of them are allowed to go on off on the same day!! But since there's nothing much I can do about it... At many a times, I would still blame it on Gena for requesting for Kevin to go on off in the first place!! Another thing is that I hope my Dear would not always be so nice to grant others their request man!!! Coz I am not as nice as my Dear!! Hahaa!! =P

Probably I shouldn't blame things in her but put yourself in my shoes, would you not be envious and at the same time jealous of her that her boyfriend was off to celebrate New Year's Eve with her while your boyfriend has to work instead and could not celebrate the occasion with you???

Gena, have you thought about this if the person on off that day was my Dear instead of your boyfriend?? Would you be happy?? This is not meant to pick a quarrel or what, but rather to let you know how I was feeling that day.

That whole night I was thinking about what my other friends were doing... Were they partying at some of the countdown locations?? I was on MSN that night and saw only few people online... 2 of them were Bernard and Andrew - the other 2 victims who suffered from boredom due to the reason that my Dear had to work, causing us (especially me) not to have any activity that night! Wasted my night away...

I still remember on last year's New Year's Eve, Dear and I were with Fang, Mark Leong, Christine, Kevin and Gena at Serangoon Garden's Ice Cube Cafe playing the mafia game. Too bad the recent steamboat gathering which was supposed to be held at Fang's house was cancelled at last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. Really hope that we could have a gathering soon!! I guessed the next time might be during CNY?

Oh yah, being KS, I would like Dear to request his off day on Valentine's Day first!! Can??

p/s: My apology if this entry has made the person concerned feels uncomfortable. Like I said, this is my space... I say what I like!! Hmmph! Bleh!
