Take It or Leave It???

Well well well... it's back to the same problem again. I'm once again stuck in a dilemma on whether to take up the job offer or not... but for this time round, it is an offer for a permanent job for the post of Customer Relation Officer in Canon.

Seems like I've got more luck to get the job when I do not disclose its interviewing process here. Kekeke... Nah, probably it was just coincidence. Anyway, I was called to go for a 2nd interview yesterday... and they actually wanted to offer me the job on the spot after a role-play test. (Hmmm... I wonder if there was anything wrong with the position since they are so keen and in a hurry to hire me... Probably they have difficulties in filling up that position, so they wanted to fill me in as soon as possible??)

This position actually requires the person to travel around to their corporate customers' companies to demostrate on how to use their Canon copier machines. So it is a 90% outdoor and 10% indoor job. Indoor job meaning having to stay in the office for about 4 to 5 times a month to do the administrative work.

During my 1st interview, the interviewer told me that the package which they could offer me would only be $1400 for the basic plus $350 for transport allowance. In addition, there will be variable commission if I am able to sell their other Canon products such as their copier paper, cartridges, etc. although there is no sales target. However, she told me that there will not be any career advancement in this department unless she herself leaves the company. But there are always opportunities to request for transfer to another department.

Ok, back to the 2nd interview... I was abit taken aback when they told me about the role-play as they wanted me to try and sell a crystal trophy (which was placed on one of the side table in the conference room) to one of the interviewers (who is the sales trainer). Luckily my nervousness did not show (this is so soo sooo rare, I think if this was held in a lecture room.. I would have stammered all the way). Anyway, I was also very surprised that I could do it so naturally. But probably it's bcoz there were only 3 of us in the room then and the interviewer was also quite lenient.

After the role-play, the 2 interviewers left the room for awhile to discuss and came back asking me if they were to offer me the position on the spot, do I still need to consider about it? So I said yes. Then they asked me how much time do I need to consider about it and what are the concerns that are pulling me back from accepting the offer? So I told them that I needed about 2 days to consider and that my main concern would be the salary followed by my interest for the job and the job advancement.

That sales trainer then slowly helped me to solve my concerns one-by-one by explaining the benefits and advantages of this Canon position, comparing these benefits to the other jobs which I have applied for. They kept telling me that I could gain alot more exposure in meeting people from their corporate customers and could also help me in building up my network although they could only offer me a basic salary of $1400. Well well... blah blah blah... and in the end they asked if I could give them a reply immediately after saying so much. Of coz.... not! Hahaa... I still told them that I needed some time to think about it.

After that, they then asked if I have any questions for them. And I said no (as I wanted to leave the room quickly coz I hate to be pressed to give an answer immediately!!). Very well, so they told me that they hope to hear from me soon and offered to send me out to the entrance.

Then for the whole day, I was thinking about the job offer until I had a serious headache at night... I dunno why this always happens!! Seems that I always like to think alot and stress myself whenever I have got a job offer... Anyway, I went to bed early last night due to my headache...

When I woke up today, Dear called me to ask about my headache and also my decision for the job offer. I seriously dunno whether I should take the job or not. While we were still talking on the phone, a second line came in... the phone number was from Canon. And I missed it on purpose.

After I hung up the phone with Dear, I returned the call to Canon and the lady who interviewed me yesterday answered the phone. She then asked what is my decision. So I told her that I am still undecided as I think the salary is holding me back. She then told me that she can try to negotiate with their HR Department to increase the basic pay by $100 to make it to $1500. So I asked if she could increase it to $1600 instead, she then said that she can't as she is already stretching it and that all her girls who have worked there for more than 5 years are getting even lesser than $1400. Thus, she hopes that I could give her my decision immediately so that she could ask their HR Department to prepare my appointment letter. She even said that she would like me to start work on this Thursday (1 June). I still think $1500 is not up to my expectation... so I told her that I needed more time to think about it. She then reluctantly agreed to give me another 2 hours to think about it.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock... ... ...

Very soon, it was 4pm... time to call the lady back to tell her my decision. But I still have not make up my mind. For a minute, I think I should take the job as I think this is the only permanent job offer I have gotten so far... and for the next minute, I think I shouldn't bcoz I think the pay is low... After that, I was worried that I would regret it if I don't take up the job as my mother might make noise about me not working... Then for the next moment, I'm afriad that I might not be able to earn enough commission from sales which leads me to earn only $1200 per month after CPF deduction... Then it went on and on and on... until it was already 5.30pm, which is Canon's knock off time. Hahaa... So irresponsible of me for not calling that lady back right!! But I really dunno whether to take the job or not mah...

Well, I think I will give her a call tomorrow to tell her my decision... Meanwhile I smsed Hui'e and asked her about her opinion of working in Canon since she is now working there as a temp. She replied and told me that her friend who used to work in the Customer Relation Department said that the employees there are quite superficial and that Canon always offer a very low basic salary. Hence, she doesn't want to work there as a permanent staff as well. She also said that the basic salary of $1500 is abit low for a degree holder.

After much consideration, I have decided to turn down the offer.

I Am Into Blink~Blink!!

Went out with Dear and friends on last Saturday night to catch a movie again. Before we met the others, I went to iNuovi at Far East Level One to trim my eyebrows . After that, Dear accompanied me to shop around in Far East as usual... And I saw this pair of gold shoes which I have already spotted at Heeren on Friday !! Hehee...

Blink~Blink!! Here it is...

When I was making my payment, I told the salesgal that I wanted to put them on now... Immediately, she took the shoes out from the box for me and offered to keep my "Bangkenstock" (Birkenstock bought from Bangkok CTC mah...) into the box, then off we went shopping with my new shoes on!! Kekeke!

Yea~!!! Now I've got shoes to match my Puma bag!! Hee! =D

The Black or Gold Puma??

Went to the Royal Sporting House at Suntec yesterday and saw this Puma Women's Spirit Grip Bag which I have spotted at Queensway Shopping Centre on last Sunday... But here, they carried 3 colours - black, gold and white, whereas I only saw the black one at Queensway. Ok, the white one is definitely out as the combination with green looks abit hard to match with my clothings. So that left me with the choice of the black or gold one. However, I was not able to decide which to buy, so Dear and I walked over to the Puma boutique at Marina while I thought about it.

When we arrived at Marina's Puma boutique, I already saw a gal trying on that bag which I have eyed on. And I saw the bigger version of the same bag this time. During that short 10 mins stay in the shop, I think there were about 3 people who tried on that bag!!! Even when we went back to the boutique after our movie, I saw another 3 different customers looking at those bags! And the saleperson even took out a new piece of the big black one and left it on the table behind the cashier. I wonder if someone has called to reserve it or was he buying it for his friend??... Well well, people who knows me will know my character - I hate copycats!! Similarly, I hate it when others eye on the same things as me. Bleh!! =P

Ok, back to topic, anyway I just cannot decide whether to buy the black Puma bag or the gold one?? The bigger one or the smaller one??? The big one seems too big (size of a bowling bag) and the small one seems a little too small (size of a normal handbag) for me. If I am still skooling, I would definitely go for the big black one without much considerations. Furthermore it looks kinda retro!! But now that I do not need the use of such a big bag, so I actually bought the smaller one instead... And I chose the gold one as shown below. But I have been thinking about changing it to the small black one again, as I think the gold one doesn't seem to suit some of my attires... say if I were to wear a black top with my jeans and my black heels... seems like the gold colour comes out from nowhere... Then again, I think it will all depends on how I mix and match my apparels. Sigh... It's always like that...

This is why the gals always have so many things to buy compared to the guys!! Coz we have to buy different colour shoes and bags to match different colour clothings... Furthermore, we have to match them according to the different styles and occasions. It's very troublesome sometimes but still I'm enjoying it!!! Kekeke!!

The 2 Words which I Said Most Today... "I Cannot"!!

Deardear and I went rollerblading today at my block's void-deck. I felt so unstable immediately with those rollerblades on. I realized I was like a kuku robot... my body was so stiff and my legs so inflexible!!! Seems like I just could not get used to bending my knees so as to balance myself. But at least it is a good thing that I could still move around wearing those rollerblades. Hehee!! But... I still dunno how to stop!!! The only way for me to stop was to hold onto something to make myself stop. =P

I also have the tendency to grab onto any wall or pillar that is near me... And I also hate the obstacles that are found within the route I am rollerblading on... Such obstacles include drains, curbs, slopes, uneven floorings and even things like cigarette butt, used tissue paper and litters thrown by others. Hahahaa!! Such things simply irritates me as it might obstruct my way while rollerblading!!! Even if they don't, I would still think that they increases the possibility of me tripping over them... I dunno why but I just have this mentality. Hehee! And the tendency is that I will avoid going near these things.

Well, I wonder when can I blade like Dear... but to me, it seems like I will never be able to do so! Hahaa!! Whenever Dear told me to try something different, I will just say "I cannot!!". But anyway, I think the u-turn which I was learning today is cool but I almost fell just now. Luckily Deardear held on to me. Heee...

Probably I am just not born to be good at rollerblading, cycling and driving... It is either due to my phobia of speed or bcoz I have got some coordination problems!!

The Precious...

It's 2am and I'm still not sleeping... Hee... Seems that I have not been blogging for some time... So I shall blog about some of the things which happened today!!

First thing of the day, I was woken up by several phone calls by my mama at 8am as I was to accompany my dad and brother to collect the new car today... or rather, to tag along with them... Hahaa. My dad told me that we have to reach the collection centre by 9.45am, so I hurried and got changed then left the house for Honda outlet at Ubi. We reached Honda at around 9.50am.... and to our disappointment, the salesperson-in-charge was not even around... Worst to know that he was actually late and still on his way to work. What an irresponsible salesperson huh??!! He made us waited for an hour!! So he finally appeared at 10.45am... In fact, he looks like the thinner version of my ex-bf... and also abit like Weicong (my PAP friend / Peter's friend)... with that GUAI LAN FACE!! Anyway, I think he seems like the impatient type. But I also understand his situation lah... with my dad's repeating questions, who will not get irritated? Kekeke...

Without wasting anymore time, the salesperson immediately brought us to the super big garage to show us our new car, the new Honda Civic 2 Litre. Nice car plate that we have got... but I think I shall not disclose the numbers here... Hehehe...

I din really like the car as the bonnet looks very short... But I think the in-built sound system is cool!! And the digital speedometer is also something new compared to the previous Honda Civics... Anyhow, I will not go on to write a review for this car bcoz I dunno much about cars ... All I know is to travel in it and that's all!! Haaa... (Actually I wanted to type "bcoz I am not Jimmy Lin... Kekeke...)

So after collecting the car, my dad was so excited that he wanted to go and install the reverse sensor and also to tint the glasses of the back-seat windows immediately. It took the tinting specialist 3 to 4 hours to finish the whole process and my dad actually waited patiently at the shop for the guy to do the tinting. My brother and I then took a cab home first as I had a job interview to attend at 3.30pm.

I'm tired of mentioning about my job interviews here as I realized that I seldom get the job after I have mentioned abt the interview process here... So this time I shall not say a thing about it to see if there is any luck to get this job. Hehehee... (Some stupid philosophy of mine. Hahaa!)

After my interview, I actually met up with Deardear for dinner since he went to town earlier to buy The Da Vinci Code movie tics for tomorrow's group outing. Oh, I meant for today coz now it's 20th May already. And while waiting for him at Heeren, I bought a pair of black tights for myself with a top to go with it. Love the combi!! Hee!!

When I met Deardear, we then went to McDonald's in Ngee Ann City to have our dinner. He then ordered the new Pepper Wings meal for himself and the McNuggets meal for me. While we were eating, my parents called to say that they are coming to fetch me. So after our meal, we hurried off to Wisma. Since there was still enough time, Deardear suggested to go to Watsons. And I was attracted by this Pinky sweet with a pink monkey on it (which looks abit like QOO). It attracted my attention bcoz I love pink and monkeys remember?? Hehee. Furthermore it's called Pinky!! Favorite ah!! Hehee... So I brought it to the cashier and Deardear paid it for me... So I actually named the sweet as my AI XIN TANG GUO!!! So sweet right??? Ahahahaaa!! (Hey I'm not trying to challenge Colin and Kero's sweetness ok!! Kekeke...)

Anyway, later when my parents came to fetch me outside Wisma, they also fetched Deardear to work. After Dear alighted at Dampsey, my dad then drove us home by Farrer Rd. On our way while we stopped at one of the traffic lights, in front of us was a Mercedes with the same 4 digits stated in the same order as our car plate. Such an coincidence huh!! Wonder if that's a hint for us to buy 4D?? Hahaa!!

Ok, when we reached home... my dad automatically turned into the multi-storey carpark without even going to the car park beside my block (this is not the practice when he drove the old car as he will normally turn into the carpark beside our block first). Like what the title of this entry says, now this new car is his precious, so he cannot bear to park it under the open space carpark... Kekeke...

After parking our car, comes a family with 2 kids (about 5-6 years old)... so the car that was parked beside us belongs to this family. Their kids were running about and even attempted to open their father's car door by themselves... Immediately, all our attention turned to them with the same thinking in mind and that is... "You kids better be careful when opening the car door, better not bang your car door against our new car... if you bang it, that's it man!!" (Actually this is my thinking lah, but I'm sure my parents are thinking about the same thing too) Kekeke!! Luckily, the maid was fast enough to hold on to their car door while the kids made their way up into the car, if not I think the kids might really just bang their car door against ours. =P

Well, I think Deardear and I cannot borrow the car for some time too... coz now it's still in 'the precious' condition. Haaa!!

MTV Asia Awards 2006

It's another boring Sunday... Was meddling with my TV remote, dunno which channel to watch... Then it happened that I switched to the MTV Channel and saw the MTV Asia Awards Bangkok 2006 juz now... All thanks to Starhub Cable Vision! Hahaa!

Yeah!! I guessed there should be Jolin's appearance... And I was correct!

Apparently, Lee Hom was one of the hosts. There was one part which he tried to interact with the audiences... so he said something like that: "When I say 'Bank', you say 'Kok' alright??"... then he repeated it a few times so that the audiences could say the word "Kok" after he says the word "Bank"... Then it goes like that...

Lee Hom: "Ehh, when I say 'Bank', you say 'Kok'!"... "When I say 'Bank', you say 'Kok'!"...
Lee Hom: "Ehh, Bank!"
Audiences: "Kok!"
Lee Hom: "Bank!"
Audiences: "Kok!"
Lee Hom: "Bank!"
Audiences: "Kok!"
Lee Hom: "Bank!"
Audiences: "Kok!"

While they were saying it halfway, my brother and I have already burst out laughing!!! Don't you think that it sounds obscene??! Ahahahaaa!!! OMG... And they said it so many times! Kekeke!! =P

Ok, so Jolin won the Style Award and performed her new song "Dancing Diva" from her unreleased album. Her new dance moves were so COOOOOL!!! She danced with the gym ball and ribbon... And I think her every move is perfect! She can be the most stylish gymnast in Asia! Hahaa... Check out her performance!

My Hair Rebonding Experiences...

I was feeling rich on last Friday... bcoz I finally saw a 4-digit amount in my bank after receiving the progress package!! Hahaa... BUT... the amount has juz dropped back to 3 digits yesterday. Guess what? I went for hair rebonding and treatment at Jean Yip Salon yesterday and I spent a total of $404.35 (after discount somemore)... Sigh... I think if there was no discount, the total amount would add up to about $600 plus! The breakdown of the total consists of $228 for rebonding, $98 for 4-Step O3 treatment and $78.35 for the rebonding shampoo, mask and serum. There goes two-third of my progress package!!

Probably others may think that I am stupid to spend such money... Well, though it is expensive but I think it's still worth it! Or should I say it is an investment for me to get better quality hair? Errmm... Not to say that my hair is beautiful or of very good quality lah, but due to my continuous bleaching and dyeing, I dare not risk it by going to any neighbourhood salon for rebonding juz bcoz they offer a cheaper rate. I simply do not trust them!!

Firstly, the chemical that they use may not be suitable to be used on bleached/chemical treated hair. Secondly, they may or may not know that the consequence of rebonding on very dry bleached hair would actually make the hair frizzy instead... So in order to earn the customers' money, they may juz go ahead with the process without informing about the consequence, as long as the customers asked for the service and only at the end of it realized that their hair has turned frizzy instead of being straightened. I have seen this happened in one of the salon in Far East... not to mention the name. I guessed that gal muz have regretted...

Anyway, I trust Jean Yip for their rebonding bcoz they are confident that their chemical product can be used on very dry and bleached hair... They have 2 types of rebonding... one is the normal rebonding and the other is called soft rebonding or gel rebonding. I go for the latter although it is more ex as the chemical is not as strong as the one used for normal rebonding, so it can be used on bleached or chemical treated hair. And if you think that your hair texture has bcom very very dry after the rebonding process, I would recommend that you do a treatment immediately after the rebonding process as you will feel an instant difference in the texture after the treatment process.

In fact, the first time when I wanted to rebond my hair was at Reds Salon. But I was told that my hair is too dry to rebond after continuous dyeing and bleaching, so the hairstylist advised that I should not rebond it. However, I wasn't convinced about it at first thus the hairstylist offered to do a rebonding test on a few strands of my hair to see if my hair could take the chemical reaction... And I agreed to it. After the rebonding process on those few strands, they really turned frizzy!! I felt very disappointed that I cannot rebond my hair then, plus the test that spoilt a small portion of my hair... I really regretted for not believing what the hairstylist told me earlier. In the end, I had to wait for about 6 months for all the frizz to grow longer and to be cut away.

After 6 months, I then went to other salons to ask whether rebonding could be done on bleached hair... Most of the salons' advice were no, only when I went to Jean Yip at Bugis which assured me that it can be done with a less strong chemical and with the appropriate heat on the ionic straightener.

Hence, I did my first rebonding at Jean Yip. The branch manager kept telling his assistant to be extra careful during the rebonding process... After 3 to 4 hours, my hair was nicely rebonded with no frizz at all!! PERFECT!!! Eversince then, I only dare to do my rebonding at Jean Yip Salons. So far, I have done it 4 times at Jean Yip and my hair always turns out to be soft and straight!! Furthermore, I think it's good to have a fixed hairstylist to do your hair, be it for haircut or for colouring, bcoz the hairstylist would eventually know your hair texture, quality and style better than any other stylists from other salons.

I think Jean Yip should pay me for giving them such a good review on rebonding!! Hahaa!! Or maybe they should give me more discounts in future!! Hehee... =P

I also just found out that the hairstyling model (the gal who appears on the salons' posters and printed advertisements) is actually Jean Yip's daughter. Her most recent poster with her long wavy hair looks abit like Jolin. Sigh... Why am I not born in Jean Yip's family?? Hahaa!! If not I can change a different hairstyle everyday too!! Kekeke...
