My Golden Opportunity Gone To Waste!!

What have I done this time??

Early on a Monday morning, my VP asked me to a room for a talk. I was wondering what was it that she would like to talk to me about... To my surprise, she asked if I would be interested to work in Taiwan for a period of about 1 month or more.

As I wasn't ready for such a question to be posted, I was taken aback for a moment. Being the not-so-confident me and not being bold enough, many things started coming to my mind. I was worried about stuff like how my mother will object if I were to tell or ask her for her approval for me to go there alone. And yes, travelling and staying there alone was my other concern.

Unfortunately, my VP needed an answer from me within the same day after she asked me the question... Wishing that I had more time or at least 1 day to consider, I was reluctant to give up the opportunity. But on the other hand, I could imagine my mom's reaction in my mind and also did not want to waste my boss' time so she could use the time to approach someone else... I reluctantly turned down her offer... making me feeling moody and regretting my decision for the rest of the day and even till now.

What makes me felt worst was that I realized I was the only one whom she approached in my department bcoz none of my other colleagues know about it... not even my own unit head! In fact, deep inside, I felt happy and really glad that my VP had me in mind for this posting. It feels like money dropping from the sky!! Hahahahaa!! Despite being the lucky one to be chosen yet I destroyed the golden chance myself!

Stupid right?? I wasted a chance to gain the exposure. Sigh...

Today I approached my VP again, just feeling curious to know if they still needed more staff to be posted to Taiwan. She told me that they have chosen only 4 persons instead of the initial intention of 6 persons, but all 4 of them are guys! So she said unless I don't mind, she might still be able to make arrangements to see if they still need people though she knew that I would prefer a female companion. Anyway bcoz all of them are guys, I decided not to trouble her as I think I will be super bored even if I were to go there. Furthermore, 2 persons will be sharing a hotel room. So... being the only gal will make me the odd one out! But one thing good is that they are allowed to fly back to Singapore once every two weeks! Good huh!!!

Although I have wasted this chance this time, I am happy that I let her know today that I would still be in interested to go if any future opportunity arises! =)

My Poor Little Hamster...

One of my hamsters (named Rafa) has been sick for 2 weeks! I feel so poor thing for her. I do not know why this will happen all of a sudden... Probably bcoz my hamsters are getting old... they are near to 2 years old now.

I did not realize that she is sick bcoz coincidently I was also down with cold and fever 2 weeks ago so I did not dare to go near the hamsters just in case I passed my viruses to them. In fact, 1 week before my fever, I had an eye infection due to the wearing of contact lenses. Then I heard my mother telling my brother that one of our hamsters looks restless and no longer as active as before... When I went to see her, she has shrunk alot in size... She has become so small and thin that we could see an obvious hump on her back. One side of her eyes was swollen... It looked very weak. We even noticed that she ate and drank lesser than normal and the shit looks greyish instead of the normal black colour.

Last Friday, when I went to look at her again, her right eye has pus dried up and was stuck together... it cannot be opened. I felt very worried!! So worried that tears came flowing after I looked at her... I am very scared that my hamsters will be gone soon due to old age especially the sick one. I felt so helpless, furthermore till now I still dare not touch them. Yah... I know it's weird!! A hamster owner who dare not touch her hamsters!! Aiyah... that's bcoz my brother and mother are the ones taking care of them... I just talk to them and replenishes their food for them. Kekeke... =P

Although I am not the one taking care of them, I still love them coz they are soooooooo cute!!!

We have thought of bringing my sick hamster to the Mount Pleasant vet near our house but my brother wasn't in Singapore last week... so we waited till today... Looking at my poor little hamster suffering makes our hearts pain... Now, a small area below my hamster's right ear has become bald and red. I always see her scratching her right eye and the area below the ear. It looks like an eye infection. As it's a public holiday today, most vets are closed... However, I really hope that something can be done to help my hamster. I checked on the net and found a vet open today. So we brought her to that vet just now.

I am starting to wonder other than the eyedrop and antibiotic given by the vet, has the vet really helped my hamster?... Coz the vet does not seem to know what causes my hamster to become like this. He said it is due to the bathing sand going into my hamster's eye and it has got stucked in her third eyelid. How true? I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. As for the redness below the ear area... he said maybe my hamster has knocked onto some metal parts... but my hamsters are kept in glass tanks and all toys are made of plastics! There's no metal parts in the tank. How can that be?? This time... I have a little bit of doubt!

Anyway, the vet treated my hamster by cleaning her right eye but he said the sand is too small to be removed... so we have to treat it with eyedrops for 10 days. And for the bald area below the ear, he checked by feeling it. He said there's a pimple and started removing it from the ear... After taking out the particles from my hamster's ear, he said the pimple was the dried up pus. He then continued to squeeze out pus from my hamster's ear while my brother held her in his hands. My hamster made the squeeking noise several times whenever the vet touches the painful area. After that, the vet then fed my hamster a drop of antibiotic from a syringe. That is the medication for us to feed it once a day. After that, that's it. Just like that, the consultation fee costs $35 and medication costs $65. That costs us $100 in total! After that my hamster's eye became even more swollen than before and the removing of the pus made the wound looks abit scary.

Despite the high expense, we all felt better for our hamster. I really really hope her eye and ear area will recover soon. But when I went to take a look at her just now, there's still pus on her right eye. Actually I am still worried and think she is so ke lian... so poor thing. But it needs time for healing, I want her to become back to normal again. I hope the medications really helps.

For those who interested to know the price range for the services in Taiwan's HPark and Jolin's Oops! J... Here it is... This is the price board placed outside the shop. I am not too sure if there are any changes to the pricings now as this pic was taken when I went to Taiwan during last December.

We Love Beautiful Nails!

Yesterday while I was working, my colleague from my department suddenly called me over to her workstation and introduced me to another colleague named Carol from the other department. She asked if I know her and I said yes as we have ever interacted once shortly over work matter. However, we have never talked to each other eversince then.

Carol suddenly showed me a folder whereby she sticked on many fake nail pieces with different samples of nailart designs! Immediately, I felt so fascinated and started talking to her as if we have known each other for ages! Hahaa!! I finally found someone who has the same interests as me!! Only after talking to her, I realized that she is trying to start her own small business as a freelance manicurist using a blog!! Her topic caught my attention at once!

I am so amazed when she told me that she actually loves doing her own nails and thus started to pick up an interest in learning to do the nailarts herself thru practising and without taking up courses! She sounded exactly like me!! Kekeke!! I think I have found a bosom friend, or should I say maybe a potential business partner (in my dream of opening my own manicure shop)!! Hahaa!

Immediately, I felt so excited for her about her intentions of starting her own business. In fact, deep inside my heart, I wish I could join her and share my suggestions with her! On the spot I left my work undone and we started chatting on how we enjoy doing our own nails with nailart designs, we talked about the places we always frequent to purchase the manicure materials and even shared the same craze of shopping at Sasa for nail polishes!! Besides, recently I also love buying books on nailarts so that I could learn more designs and ways of painting my nails! I think we have alot to talk about and I just felt like chit-chatting with her on and on, unfortunately we can't as there's still work to do. I was so engrossed in our conversation till I did not even realize that my team leader was standing beside me while we were chatting, he was waiting to take down my efficiency stats. So we went back to work immediately after that.

Actually I have a thought of expressing my desire and inspiration to join her in what she is currently doing... but bcoz we have just got to know each other, I do not know if she will mind me joining her... furthermore this is originally her business idea.

In any case, I hope she will become successful! This is her blog called
My Manicure... http://mymanicure.blogspot.com/.

Those who are interested in doing manicure can visit her blog to find out more about her services. =)

Singapore Flyer - So Near Yet So Far

The Singapore Flyer... opened to corporate but not to the public yet. Deardear brought me to Raffles Boulevard to take a closer look at the capsule.

My Brother's R.O.M.

Hmm... CNY's over... My boss will be back from her 2 weeks of block leaves on this coming Monday... Everything is now back to normal... It's also the end of my happy fun days for the moment!

Received a sms from a friend yesterday... Yup!! She's getting engaged soon... Not sure if she mind me to reveal her name so I better not mention it here. Everyone seems to be getting married around me... I feel like time flies so fast!! On one hand, I think I am getting old and hope that me too can get married soon... but on the other, I am not even prepared for it - no stable job and income (coz I hate my current job and want a change again! =P), no savings - no $$$ to buy a flat and no $$$ to hold a wedding banquet, I am just not prepared yet!! Wonder if my turn will ever come??? Hahahaa!!!

Anyway, Dear and I attended my brother's ROM on last Friday (15th February 2008)! He also went with me for the food tasting at Shangri-La Hotel where my brother is going to hold his wedding banquet. Our family met Shuping's family... Felt kinda awkward though... like so weird to sit and eat at the same table with people we do not know. Shuping's family seems ok to me but I think her aunty and cousin were so extra and busybody. I say that they are KPO bcoz they like want to get involved in everything... they gave lots of comment during the food tasting, told Shuping and my brother to change so many different dishes just bcoz they themselves did not like it! They did not like the food does not mean that others or rather my family does not like it as well what! They also talked about the dining arrangements for the actual wedding day and said lots more things which I think they should not be the ones getting involved. In fact, I just do not like her cousin's face - she resembles Shuping!! Felt like slapping her whenever she opened her mouth! I guessed she gave me the same feeling when I first got to know Shuping! I think they are all borned with such fussy and busybody characters, and always think that they are big shots!! (I hope no one from her family reads my blog! =P)

My main motive is to upload their ROM photos here. However, I ended up complaining again... hahaa... coz I simply cannot stand them! Anyway, I should not be bothered about what happened as long as my brother is happy. But sometimes, it makes me wonder if they are actually taking advantage of my brother. =P

Happy Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day!

I know my greetings to all is kinda late for CNY. =P But anyway, today is the 7th day of lunar new year So Happy Ren Ri to everyone!

I have taken leave from today to Friday... My initial plan was to celebrate my anniversary with Dear today, Valentine's Day tomorrow and brother's R.O.M. on Friday... too bad Dear could only take leave on Friday... so I decided to take leave just to stay home to relax... coz I'm still in CNY mood. Kekeke... But I think I will begin to hate the days starting from next Monday onwards bcoz there will be no more PH till 21st March which is Good Friday. Eventually, our lifestyle will start to repeat itself daily again bcoz there will be nothing else but work, eat and sleep, work, eat and sleep, work, eat and sleep and it can go on and on (with abit of other activities on weekends lah)... Aiyah, in other words, life is just boring lah...

Well, I have watched Kung Fu Dunk with some friends on last Saturday... Knowing that it is a lame show but still we went to watch it... I guess most people just wanna see Jay Chou but for me, I just wanna know the story so that I will not be left out when others talk about it... Anyway I love watching comedies... they are always lame but funny... I like! Hehee!

As for my comments on the movie... I think it's not very very nice lah coz the slamdunk actions are overly exaggerated... but it was exciting to watch the 2 basketball teams played against each other, knowing that you want Jay's team to win the match! Right?? And just like Initial D, there's a new song to the movie called 周大侠.

Here's the music video... Take note of the lyrics... it says something like he no longer sells toufu (in Initial D) but he is now learning kungfu (in Kung Fu Dunk)... Haaa!

Okie, that's all for now. Here's wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day in advance! ;)

Back To Streaks Again...

Yesterday, I went to my hairstylist's salon coz I took leave to visit the dentist as well. I went there without making up my mind of what I want to do with my hair, but I just went. Initially, I just wanted to speak to my hairstylist to ask him for his suggestions. However, when I reached his salon and asked for his name. A guy then told me to take a seat inside.

Despite feeling abit confused and undecided, I still walked in and sat down aimlessly. Next, that guy then served me with magazines and a cup of water, which is the standard procedure when I go there for my hairdos. I guessed I cannot say I don't want to do anything to my hair by now. So he asked me what would I like to do? And I told him that I just need a trim.

5 mins later, my hairstylist came over and reconfirmed my request. But this time I told him I don't know what to do with my hair. He immediately suggested highlighting. And so I asked for his recommendations of the 2 colour tones for highlight and lowlight. He asked if I want to do the same colours as before... I said no and told him that I want something different, something that is not so common. Then he recommended me 2 tones of ash colours - ash brown for the base and ash blonde for the streaks. After some consideration, I accepted his recommendation.

During the dyeing process, I saw the colour of the streaks after bleaching... They looked almost white!!! I was abit worried. When everything was done, my fringe has a streak of blue! Gave me a shock coz I didn't choose that colour in the beginning! And I thought my whole head has streaks of blue... however not. Instead the rest of the streaks are ash blonde which look very much like greyish white hair! I was quite satisfied with the end results... In fact, I wished there were more blue streaks.

But the moment I reached home, my mum commented that I look ugly and even said that I look like I have aged like an old woman! Hated the comment! Coz it made me feel like I have wasted my money for the colouring!

I was hoping to hear better comments from my colleagues... Instead, 6 out of 9 colleagues gave the same comments like my mother! I felt worst!!! And Vanessa kept repeating to others that I have got white hair and that I have turned old after not seeing her for 1 day... blah, blah, blah...

All these comments made me regret colouring my hair but what's done cannot be undone (unless I dye my hair back to black again)... I can only tell myself that they do not know how to appreciate such colours, either they are old-fashion or they are jealous that they do not have the courage to do so! Hmmph!!! Self-consoling I know! But who cares??! As long as I am happy can already! =P

Here are my Sadako pictures...

Hope I didn't scare you... Hahaa... =D

Changi Airport Terminal 3

Have you been to the new T3 @ Changi Airport yet?? I've been there thrice in 2 weeks - twice with Deardear for supper and once with my parents for dinner after sending my brother to work.

The floor area of T3 seems so much bigger than T1 and T2... It does not just look like an airport but also like a shopping centre for people to shop and dine. Most of the people walking around are locals instead of foreigners! I even met my cousins and their family eating at the same foodcourt!

Well, here's some photos taken during my first visit with Deardear...

Just a gentle reminder - please remember to bring a sweater or jacket if you are going there coz the aircon is freaking ~cold~!!!!!!
