MJ's Guitarist For 'This Is It' Concert

I was supposed to start my new job today, however I received a call from the HR department yesterday and was informed that they have to defer my commencement date to next week due to a suspected H1N1 case in the organization. Heee... 3 more days of freedom! Hahaaa!!

Anyway during MJ's memorial service, I took notice of that blond gal who sang with Judith Hills and the other background singers, who sang We Are The World during the memorial service. I think she looks quite cool! All I knew was that she was the guitarist in MJ's concert rehearsal footage... So I decided to search more info about her to kill my curiosity... I thought it would be quite difficult, however not. She is in fact quite a well-known guitarist!

Her name is Orianthi Panagaris, a 23 years old Australian guitarist! And she also sings! The following clip is a short interview with her on how she was selected to be MJ's guitarist.

Tribute to Michael Jackson (1958-2009)...

Last night, I stayed up to watch the live telecast of Michael Jackson's memorial service on CNN online. I feel very sad while and after watching the memorial service although I do not know Michael Jackson in person, neither was I a fan of his before he died... It's a pity that he has gone too soon...

In fact, when Michael Jackson was still alive, all I knew about him was that he was a black singer who went through plastic surgery, changed his skin tone and was really good in dancing and moonwalking, his music is really popular in the world and that he is called the King of Pop. Then I also heard about the child molesting cases which I don't really care whether it was true or not... Other than all that, I knew nothing much about him and didn't care much about his existence.

It was only after his death and that the media started reporting about his life then I got to know that he seems to be a really nice person... I started becoming more and more interested about him... I started watching MTV channel almost everyday to catch glimpse of news and programmes about Michael Jackson. Then eventually, I realized that I kinda like him but I do not know exactly why... think it is bcoz of his love for children and that he indeed influenced the world with his music... And of coz I like seeing him dance!! I wish I was a fan earlier, now it seems too late... I guess I could only pay my tribute by buying his CD to keep as a memorabilia.

While watching the memorial service last night, my tears kept rolling down automatically. The finale of the memorial service ended with everyone and the crews of the 'This Is It' concert singing We Are The World and Heal The World. Finally, the best part was when his daughter Paris spoke up, and I was so touched by her words! Her speech about her daddy was the most powerful speech among all! It is simply too touching!!!

Goodbye Michael Jackson... You will be missed! R.I.P.

Regretting Snipping Off Your Locks?? Worry Not...

After keeping my hair short for almost 1 year, I am kinda getting sick of my short hair look... or rather bcoz I can't cut my hair as I am in the process of growing it long again. I miss my long hair! Then again whenever I see girls with nice short hair, I still have the urge to cut it short... yet I can't!!! I must endure... coz I want to keep my hair long... Hee... Fickle-minded as usual!!

I think my current shoulder length hair is the most difficult stage to maintain bcoz of its 'qiaoness' at the ends and is also the most challenging stage to pass... coz must endure for quite a long period while waiting for the hair to grow below the shoulder length... This is kinda irritating... I am currently experiencing the 'feel like cutting yet cannot cut' stage. Now my hair is so untidy, messy and has no shape which makes me feel so aunty!! Ok, I know I am aunty lah... but but but... you know what I mean ok???!!!

Anyway, I need to do something about my hair... I have been thinking of going for hair extensions! I am referring to those extensions using braiding methods to make the hair look longer... Thought of trying that... But after reading comments on forum threads about hair extensions, many girls said that they developed swollen or itchy scalp... And many said that they suffered from hair loss... Sounds scary huh!!!

I think after reading those comments, I have decided to give it a miss! I am not brave enough to take the risk bcoz I already have very little hair so my hair is very precious to me! Hahaa... Can't afford to lose anymore hair lor!! So I decided to choose the safer option which is...

Jiang jiang jiang jiang!!! Nice???

This is also hair extensions but the instant clip-on type, so it can be used as and when I like it and then it can be detached at the end of the day... Cool huh!!! I simply love my instant long long hair!!!

At the same time, I also bought a piece of clip-on fringe, just for the fun of seeing myself in straight fringe coz I don't have the courage to cut this kind of fringe!! Hehee... Apparently, these type of hair pieces and extensions are quite popular in Taiwan and Japan.

I think I look pretty silly with this type of straight fringe... not suitable for me! Instead I think Deardear looks better with it... Ahahahaaa!! Cute right??! =D

Have a good laugh!!! =P

The Flaw In Samsung Preston

Recently, I have just upgraded my handphone to Samsung Preston. Ok, I bought this phone bcoz of its colour as I initially wanted to get the Samsung F480 model but M1 said that they no longer have stock for the pink one and so I chose to buy Preston since they have it in lilac violet colour. But now I am regretting it!!!

Just wanna warn girls like me who go for colours instead of functions when choosing the type of phone to buy... This phone is not a good phone for those with long nails, especially those with nail extensions... bcoz the touch screen function does not allow you to use fingernails to touch, neither any stylus will help... it is only sensitive to detect the tip of your fingers... so it's not that user-friendly for people with long nails.

The touch screen functions quite similarly to the first batch of iPhone... (not sure if the new batches is still the same though...) It makes sms-ing very tedious coz will tend to touch the wrong keys! I am just wondering since they are targeting this phone at the female market, why didn't they think about this inconvenience?? Girls love long nails and manicures so... we tend to use our nails to touch the screen instead of our fingertips! Samsung should have put the technology in Jet also in Preston earlier what!

After I bought the phone, I received the following advertisement in my email coincidently... the sentence about going easy on the manicure kinda irritates me!

Anyway, my Deardear bought the recently launched Samsung Jet which I think is way much better than Preston. Samsung Jet enables touch screen with fingernails and has more functions than Preston, even the colours and pictures looks nicer!

I feel like trading-in my Preston for the Jet! If I knew it earlier, I should have upgraded to Jet instead. I have now learnt my lesson not to go for colours in phones but for its functions. Hehee...
