Oops! 'J'olin Is In Singapore!

Jolin is in Singapore now... I guessed she should be on her way to IMM for her promotion on Taiwan... but why am I still sitting here blogging??? Duhh... I wish I am at IMM now but thinking of being there and waiting for Jolin's appearance alone has stopped me from going... I fear loneliness!! Hahaa!!

Anyway, I was searching for news on today's event at IMM just now. At the same time, I found out that actually there's this shop in Singapore called
The Skin Boutique that has already brought in Jolin's Oops! J nail polishes!! I think I will go and check this place out one of these days... here's the website for people who are interested in the product - http://theskinboutique.com.sg/about-oopsj.php

The physical shop is located at No. 21 Club Street #02-09 Singapore 069410 (Opp. Far East Square, above Senso Restaurant). Tel/Fax: +65 6423 9394. Opening Hours: Mon - Fri 11am - 8pm, Sat & Sun 11am - 6pm.

By the way, I am not paid to advertise for them but bcoz I support Jolin's product and I truly recommend it to all other Jolin's female fans as well as princesses and divas who like to have bling bling nails!!

Oh yah, there's something to add... the prices of the nail polishes sold in
The Skin Boutique are slightly higher than those of which I purchased directly from Oops! J while I was in Taiwan. But I think this is due to the import shipping cost to Singapore.

Nail Extension - My Second Trial

I just finished my second trial on doing acrylic nail extension using artificial nail tip. This time, I did the extension on my own right index finger instead of the fake finger... as my right index and middle finger nails are shorter than the rest of my fingers due to chip-off, I have decided to practice with my left hand to extend the fingernail on my right hand.

Adding on to my nail supplies... I even bought a box to keep my items! Tadah~! Do I look like a professional manicurist now?? Hahaa!

That's not all... There are still plenty of things not kept in the box! The rest of the barangs are kept in my Ikea storage box! Wait till you see all the nail polishes that I have... you will faint!! Before I show you guys my nail polishes collection, here's just a small preview...

It's a colour chart showing all the nail polish colours I have! Ok, there are some empty slots though... coz it is still incomplete. I have not completed it bcoz I have yet to sort out every colour. And this is only chart 1... I still have chart 2 not started on yet. =P

Ok, back to my nail extension trial... This is my little practice space...

And this is the end result of my completed nail extension!

Still not very nice but I think it's still acceptable! Compare my index fingernail to my middle and fourth fingernails... Can you see the difference between with and without extension?

Hmmm... Now I feel weird with only one artificial fingernail tip attached. But before I remove it, I will see if it can last till next weekend or longer. Anyway, the removal of acrylic extensions require quite alot of time... now I am feeling too lazy to go through the process so I shall wait till next Saturday or Sunday then.

More Oops! J...

Hehee... I think I am crazy!! I spent almost S$300 on Oops! J nail polishes this time!!! And this time I bought 13 bottles! Thanks to my colleague Joanne for helping me make the purchase! =P

I think I will soon collect the whole range of Oops! J nail polishes! Even Vanessa says that I can be the Singapore ambassador for Oops! J coz I am influencing my female colleagues to buy their nail polishes too!! I even brought the catalog for them to choose the colours to buy and provided them with info when they asked me what are the differences based on the different range. Vanessa said that it was as if I am working part-time as an Oops! J promoter during my office hours. Hahaa... Seriously, I don't mind being Oops! J ambassador actually!

Overspending On Nail Supplies

I have recently spent almost $800 on nail equipments and accessories for doing acrylic nail extensions and nailarts! I thought I would only spent about $200-300 initially, however, as I shopped more, I realized that I needed more and more equipments and accessories so as to make my practising more realistic. Still, I have yet to buy all the equipments needed!! But I think I can open my own manicure business already! Hahaa!!! Anyone interested to be my hand model for practising?? But to say first, I will not be liable for any accidents or injuries caused. =P

Anyway, I realised that I have been 'cheated'!! Reason being that I thought purchasing the necessary items from a nail institute would be safer and cheaper... but I was totally wrong! Only after making my first purchase from the nail institute (at Far East Plaza), I learnt that the other shops are selling their nail supplies at a much cheaper price!! I felt so so cheated! Especially for their acrylic nail brush, I bought mine at $60 from the nail institute and it does not even have any brand yet the salesgirl told me that it is the cheapest that they have in-store... only to find out that the branded ones under the brand 'Kolinsky' are sold at the same price and some even cheaper for the smaller sizes... and they look very much nicer than the one I bought! Arrgh!!

So if you are interested in purchasing nail supplies, never buy from the nail institute coz I think they are there to 'cheat' the student's money!! Stupid me kenna cheated eventhough I am not their student! Sigh...

I would recommend that you can go to this shop called Enamour at Bugis Village Level 2 Unit CSLA 2/3... They bring in plenty of beauty and nail products, equipments and accessories. And the prices there are considered not too expensive... cheaper than what the institute is selling. Their sales assistants are also more helpful and friendly... One of them is called Meijun... she was the girl who did the blings for me on my V3 last year. It was such a coincidence to see her again when I went to this shop and was really glad that she still remembers me! Kekeke...

Oh yah, they also have a website whereby online purchases can be made and goods will be delivered to you! The url is
http://www.nailsupplies.com.sg/. But of coz the physical shop has more products.

I have tried doing an acrylic nail extension with artificial tip on the fake finger today... Tadah~! Here's the end result!

Nice?? I know the nail looks slightly oversized for the finger but this is actually due to the fake finger which needed this size of fake nail to be inserted into its slot.

I will try doing the sculptured extension the next time round, meaning using acrylic to sculpt out the nail tip as the extension instead of using artificial tips then overlaying with acrylic.

Tammie's R.O.M.

Remember that I mentioned earlier about one of my friends getting engaged?... This friend is actually Tammie!! Fang, Eileen, Deardear and I just attended her solemnization ceremony held at Sentosa Resort Beaufort Hotel on last Sunday (30th Mar 2008).

She look so sweet and pretty that day coz I seldom see her with make-up! And she resembles her mum alot! I think her mum is so funny... like those happy-go-lucky type. In fact, it is also my (our) first time seeing and meeting her fiance, Benny. Hehee...

Anyway, congratulations to the both of them! Stay sweet, loving, romantic and happy forever!!! =D

Here are the pics taken that day...

Last but not least, presenting to you - Tammie's R.O.M. FEATURING The Pirates of the Caribbean, no I mean Sentosa! Hahaa! (edited by Fang using my T70)

2am: dessertbar

Deardear brought me and Choco pair to this new dessert place at Holland V on last Saturday! It is located at 21A Lorong Liput Holland Village on level 2.

They have very unique desserts whereby the staff will present in detail after they served the dessert. (Be prepared to have melted ice creams after the staff finished his/her explanation! Hahaa! =P) But I think there are not alot of variety for the dessert considering that they are a dessert bar. If I am not wrong, they have about 11 types of dessert. By the 3rd or 4th time customers go there, they will be able to finish trying all of their desserts! As for their prices, they fall between the range of $9 to $14 each.

The interior design is quite stylish and cozy but abit cramped... At the side is a very long sofa with long leg rest... somewhat similar to a sofa bed with small tables to place the food and drinks. The design sort of reminded me of Bed Supper Club.

Overall, it is a nice place to chill and chit-chat, especially if you have nowhere to go at night since it opens till 2am. But I think people can also get bored of the place easily by going there too often. Oh yah, don't bother to go on Sundays coz they are closed!

Here are the 4 types of dessert which we ordered that night.

Popcorn Creme Brulee (left) and Ameida Chocolate Cake (right)

My Second Purchase of Oops! J Nail Polishes

Yay!! I am so excited to try on these new nail colours!! As Vanessa recently went to Taiwan for a holiday, I told her to make a visit to Oops! J for me so as to help me get some of the nail polishes.

Tadah~! Here are the 7 new bottles!!

Spent a total of NT$2650. There are altogether 6 different ranges - Temptation, Wondering, Galaxy, Future, Sweet and Pearly. If I did not remember wrongly, the range for Temptation and Wondering are more expensive costing NT$450 per bottle and the rest of the ranges are priced at NT$350 per bottle.

Here's a gentle reminder to manicure lovers like me, who would also travel to Taiwan to make their purchases at Oops! J - Please remember to check the colours of the nail polish inside the box when you are making your purchase at the shop, so as to make sure that it is the correct colour which you have picked earlier... bcoz sometimes the colour of the nail polish in the box does not tally with the colour stated on the outside of the box.

This was what happened to my friend Vanessa who did not open up the boxes on the spot to check and hence she only realized that she purchased 2 wrong colours for me after she passed the nail polishes to me back in Singapore. By then, it was too late for do anything about it. Luckily I am ok to take any of the colours as long as it's Oops! J nail polish coz I am hoping to collect the whole 6 ranges... Keke... =P The only unfortunate thing is that I already have one of the colours which she bought wrongly, so now I have 2 of the same colours!
