Back to a Slacker...

Ok... I feel so relax now!! Hehee... Last friday was my last day of work in MediaCorp... Tendered my resignation 2 weeks ago as I was really sick of the work and do not want to waste anymore time there. Finally, no more sighing about having to go to work on every Sunday nights... Kekeke... Now I could go and attend job interviews as and when I like without having to commit my time to the temp job.

Dun mistaken... We did not take part in Singapore Idol! It just happened that I wanted to take a pic with my supervisor before leaving the company and since we saw the Singapore Idol backdrop so we decided to take the pic with it. Hehee...

Sulynn and George's Birthday Celebration

Met up with my poly friends to celebrate Sulynn and George's birthday yesterday night. We went to one of the Japanese restaurants in Wheelock for our dinner. At first, I thought it was Sakae that we are going to but nope...

The restaurant is located on level 3, called Sun With Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe. It is quite a unique place. I would consider the place as above average class yet not too high class. The prices are still considered affordable for people who are working, but probably not a place to go regularly... if not it will burn a hole in my pocket!! Hahaa!!

The seats are quite comfortable though... Nice ambience! And the meals are really cool... The rice meals are all put in a very special container - a metal pot covered with a wooden lid, with a small hour glass given to time 1-minute before we could open the lid to enjoy the food... refer to Sulynn's pics below to get what I mean.

And the desserts on the menu look really tempting to me!! Too bad I din have the opportunity to order them as my friends wanted to chill out at some other places after dinner. I promise I will go back there to try the desserts!! Hee!!

After dinner, we actually wanted to go to P.S. Cafe. However, that place was once again fully booked when we called to make our reservation. Ashley then suggested going to the few other cafes at Dampsey Rd to chill out... meaning it's either Wine Network or Wine Company. But they did not know that my Dear is working in Wine Network... so when I heard that they are going there I was quite reluctant to go... abit sianz of going there already! So Michael later suggested going to a cafe called Bar-Stop at Devonshire Rd... Apparently, we all heard him saying it as Bus-Stop. Only when we arrived there, then we realized that the cafe is called Bar-Stop, not Bus-Stop!!! Ahahaa!!

This is another cafe that's really nice to chill out in... And it opens till quite late at night!! Hehee... So now we know of another place to go at night next time! Love the seats on the 2nd storey!! Sibei relax ah!! Kekeke...

Their waiters also provided quite good service. One of the female waitress even offered to help us refrigerate the birthday cake that we brought.

And there is this another malay waiter who is quite funny! Jeffrey ordered "Sex on The Beach" so when his cocktail was to be served, the waiter asked "Who's having sex?" HAHAHAA!! CORNY!! After that when we passed Jeff's cocktail around to try, sickening Jeffrey said that he is having sex with everyone!! Duhh!!

Deardear ordered Bus-Boy which I wanted to ordered initially... tasted like Yakult... but I quite like it! And later I ordered a cocktail called Japanese Inspector. Nice nice also!! I think it is a mix of Umeshu Japanese plum wine and grapefruit syrup. Not sure if I remembered it correctly la... but it tasted quite nice!! Sweet sweet one!! Unlike Ah Guan's peppermint lime... YUCKS!!! Dun ever order that drink or you will regret it manz!!! Ah Guan did not even want to drink it after that... In the end we used his drink as the forfeit for our games with the birthday boy and gal.

We took turns to play games like Hai Dai, Hei Bai Pei, Five-Ten, Chee Ko Pa, Frog Frog Jump (Qing Wa Qing Wa Tiao) with Sulynn and George so as to make them drink that disgusting drink. Hehee... After that, we also had a Qian Pian Wen Da Ti session which everyone came up with very lame answers to the questions! And of coz not forgeting about the cake cutting session!!! They even made Shuyun kiss George! Hahahaa!! La chi, la chi, la chi, la chi...!! =P

By the way, upon footing the bill, the waiter told us that we are entitled to a free bottle of wine if we make our payment by UOB credit cards. So Keith paid with his credit card first and got a bottle of Moore's Creek for free. We then drank it on the spot before we left the place.

After leaving Bar-Stop, Sulynn was hungry again. So instead of going home, we went to Ah Li San Taiwan Porridge at Hougang to have our supper. I did not know that the food there is so expensive... We ordered 9 bowls of sweet potato porridge with 6 dishes... that added up to about $44!!! They thought we are carrots manz!!! Think will not go there to eat again!

Fun At The Beach

Went to Sunset Bay on last Saturday with Shufang, Kevin, Gena, Dear and his friends... It seems so long ago since the last time we went to the beach!! Our tan has already faded... WE ALL NEED THE SUN!!! Hehehee...

Supposed to meet at Harbourfront McDonalds at 10.30am but we were late... kekeke... =P As my mama had already cooked a sumptuous meal, she told us to eat before leaving. Not really a sumptuous meal lah, but I simply love the prawns!!! Yum yum!!! All these while, I have been taking my breakfast/lunch (brunch) at Harbourfront Mc or Shih Lin... This is my first time eating a home cook breakfast at home before going to Sunset Bay...

When Dear and I arrived at Harbourfront, Kevin, Gena and Bernard had already finished eating their breakfast ... Though I was not feeling hungry, I was tempted by the Cup Corn poster in Mc. Hehee... So I bought a cup to try... It did not taste as nice as the authentic one bcoz salt was not given, only margarine.

After Fang arrived, we then proceed to Sentosa. So Kevin, Gena, Fang and I sat at the back of Bernard's van. At the admission checkpoint , I think the Sentosa staff can't even see us at the back of the van lor! Hahaa! A good way to smuggle non-Islander card holders into Sentosa. =P

Andrew and his cousins were already at the beach when we arrived. Initially, Fang and I felt a little uncomfortable when we first saw them coz we dunno them... but nevermind, we gals sat down to chit chat while the guys played their soccer! Anyway, there was no sun... Booboo...

Not long after, a gal named Yiping came to join us. She is Bernard's friend (or is it admiree? Hehee!!). Frankly speaking, I dun really like her though ---> Bad first impression perhaps. Dun think she is the type that I will enjoy mixing around with.

Anyway, here are the piccies taken on that day.

Once again, it rained damn heavily after we finished bathing. We were then caught in the rain while walking to the other tram stop. I was so drenched till I felt freaking cold... When the tram came, the seats were all wet. Dear then used his towel to wipe the seat. Along the way, water kept dripping onto our seats and Fang also had to use her towel to wipe the seat every now and then. Luckily I was sitting between the two of them! Well, probably using the tram as a beach transport wasn't such a good idea afterall... Think they should juz bring back the beach line bus!

After that, we went to Suntec to eat vietnamese food. The restaurant is called Pho House (if I din remember wrongly) on the 3rd level near Kushinbo. It's similar to that MeKong restaurant in Melbourne. I ordered the vermicelli... It's quite nice actually! Something different!! Think we should go there more often next time. =D

What Do I Want In Life?

I'm so sick... sick of work! Every morning, I will be dragging myself to work, thinking about what I am going to do for the rest of my day. What else?? Nothing interesting but those administrative and filing duties again!! I am getting so sick of doing all these shitty stuffs again and again... seems neverending. I'm so tired of doing them till I always try to finish them hastily. But whenever I tell my supervisor that I have finished my work, hoping that she will give me something more challenging to do... she will tell me to check this document with that document to make sure that the details tally with each other... SIANZ!!! CAN'T SHE GIVE ME SOMETHING THAT IS NOT SO BORING TO DO???

Sigh... I also cannot blame it on her la... Just blame it on the job I chose to work in lor...Who asked me to take up this temp job in the first place huh?? Ge Kiang la!!! Now doing all the sai kang... And who asked me to take up HR as my specialization?? I used to think that HR tasks should be easier since it's juz administrative work but who knows it turned out to be dead boring afterall... Really regretted in taking up HR as my majoring subject manz!!! Now then I realized that HR is not my cup of tea... TOO LATE!! Wasted my degree!! =(

Really feel like quitting my current job now coz I hate wasting my time doing filing and checking documents everyday... Rather spend my time to apply for job at home and go for job interviews. Yet I dunno how to tell my supervisor about it bcoz she's like so nice to me... as in she allows me to go for interviews whenever I need to and even told me that it's alright to look for a perm job even though the recruitment agent told me to commit for the whole 3 months of this temp employment.

On the other hand, I'm also worried that I might not be able to get a job even after I quit MediaCorp. So why not juz stay on till I get a perm job instead? Then again, I also feel bad to take leaves whenever I need to attend job interviews... Can't possibily take leave or time-off everyday to go for interviews right? Sigh... Thinking about this, I would rather quit the job so that I am free to go for any job interviews as and when I want to... at least I don't have to feel bad or commit my time to the temp job instead. Confused confused!!!

Apparently, I'm still thinking about the giordano management trainee offer even after I have rejected it. Not sure if I am regretting it now... Although I have heard many bad feedbacks about the job previously, I somehow think that this is so far the only offer that could help me get a headstart into a more marketing-related job (as in bcoz this management trainee post allows me to do not juz retail but HR, marketing and merchandising). Furthermore, it's also in a fashion retail industry which is the industry I am interested to work in... The only thing that turns me off for this job is the retail hours bcoz I need to be attached to the shop floor for the first 6 months. Sigh... If only I could convince myself to endure through the first 6 months then I would have accepted the offer...

Now I doubt that I would be able to get a marketing position... bcoz I don't even major in that specialization, not to mention having the relevant experience. Moreover, with my current temp HR experience... I am starting to get more HR job interviews than before!!! But the thing is I DON'T WANT A HR JOB NOW!!! SO STOP OFFERING ME HR POSITIONS!!! I WANT MARKETING POSITIONS!!!

Probably this is why people always say that "Life Is Never Satisfying"... Hahaa!! =P
