Met up with my poly friends to celebrate Sulynn and George's birthday yesterday night. We went to one of the Japanese restaurants in Wheelock for our dinner. At first, I thought it was Sakae that we are going to but nope...
The restaurant is located on level 3, called Sun With Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe. It is quite a unique place. I would consider the place as above average class yet not too high class. The prices are still considered affordable for people who are working, but probably not a place to go regularly... if not it will burn a hole in my pocket!! Hahaa!!
The seats are quite comfortable though... Nice ambience! And the meals are really cool... The rice meals are all put in a very special container - a metal pot covered with a wooden lid, with a small hour glass given to time 1-minute before we could open the lid to enjoy the food... refer to Sulynn's pics below to get what I mean.
After dinner, we actually wanted to go to P.S. Cafe. However, that place was once again fully booked when we called to make our reservation. Ashley then suggested going to the few other cafes at Dampsey Rd to chill out... meaning it's either Wine Network or Wine Company. But they did not know that my Dear is working in Wine Network... so when I heard that they are going there I was quite reluctant to go... abit sianz of going there already! So Michael later suggested going to a cafe called Bar-Stop at Devonshire Rd... Apparently, we all heard him saying it as Bus-Stop. Only when we arrived there, then we realized that the cafe is called Bar-Stop, not Bus-Stop!!! Ahahaa!!
This is another cafe that's really nice to chill out in... And it opens till quite late at night!! Hehee... So now we know of another place to go at night next time! Love the seats on the 2nd storey!! Sibei relax ah!! Kekeke...
Their waiters also provided quite good service. One of the female waitress even offered to help us refrigerate the birthday cake that we brought.
And there is this another malay waiter who is quite funny! Jeffrey ordered "Sex on The Beach" so when his cocktail was to be served, the waiter asked "Who's having sex?" HAHAHAA!! CORNY!! After that when we passed Jeff's cocktail around to try, sickening Jeffrey said that he is having sex with everyone!! Duhh!!
Deardear ordered Bus-Boy which I wanted to ordered initially... tasted like Yakult... but I quite like it! And later I ordered a cocktail called Japanese Inspector. Nice nice also!! I think it is a mix of Umeshu Japanese plum wine and grapefruit syrup. Not sure if I remembered it correctly la... but it tasted quite nice!! Sweet sweet one!! Unlike Ah Guan's peppermint lime... YUCKS!!! Dun ever order that drink or you will regret it manz!!! Ah Guan did not even want to drink it after that... In the end we used his drink as the forfeit for our games with the birthday boy and gal.
We took turns to play games like Hai Dai, Hei Bai Pei, Five-Ten, Chee Ko Pa, Frog Frog Jump (Qing Wa Qing Wa Tiao) with Sulynn and George so as to make them drink that disgusting drink. Hehee... After that, we also had a Qian Pian Wen Da Ti session which everyone came up with very lame answers to the questions! And of coz not forgeting about the cake cutting session!!! They even made Shuyun kiss George! Hahahaa!! La chi, la chi, la chi, la chi...!! =P
By the way, upon footing the bill, the waiter told us that we are entitled to a free bottle of wine if we make our payment by UOB credit cards. So Keith paid with his credit card first and got a bottle of Moore's Creek for free. We then drank it on the spot before we left the place.
After leaving Bar-Stop, Sulynn was hungry again. So instead of going home, we went to Ah Li San Taiwan Porridge at Hougang to have our supper. I did not know that the food there is so expensive... We ordered 9 bowls of sweet potato porridge with 6 dishes... that added up to about $44!!! They thought we are carrots manz!!! Think will not go there to eat again!
